Ed Sheeran prepared for a return to the UK on Tuesday after taking a short promotional tour of the US in the name of his new album.
The 30-year-old singer-songwriter is back in the spotlight following the release of his math-titled fifth studio album, = (Equals), on October 29.
And he was in high spirits after arriving at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport before a flight back to London after appearances on a series of American talk shows.

Dressed in a salmon pink t-shirt under a beige sheepskin jacket, the unpretentious Ed gave onlookers a thumbs-up as he walked through the busy terminal.
He added to a quintessentially laid back look with a pair of baggy black joggers and Nike high top sneakers, while a duffel bag was slung over one shoulder.
In line with health and safety concerns over the spread of COVID-19, the unkempt-haired star wore a black face covering while waiting to board his plane.

Close: Earlier today, Ed was hand-in-hand with his wife Cherry Seaborn as they strolled through New York’s Battery Park.
Her comeback comes after sandwiching appearances on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon between a special showcase instead of New York Butterfly.
The Shape of You singer was cleared to travel after being isolated with his daughter Lyra, 14 months old, after the two tested positive for COVID-19.
He took to Instagram last week to let his followers know he had “the green light” and was now out of solitary confinement.

The songwriter wrote: “Posting this photo to say I’m released from Covid isolation today so if you see me outside I’ve been given the green light and done my quarantine.
“Glad to get back to work with work, and SNL is still on, so tune in on Saturday, see you soon.”
Ed discussed his isolation during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show – which aired last Saturday and saw him perform a track from the new album again.
Back on stage: He also found time for a live presentation instead of New York City Butterfly
He explained, “There was only me and my daughter in the house and my wife lived a bit next door.
‘My wife was away when I was diagnosed [so] she would cook us dinner and drop it off. It was really nice to have some one-on-one time [with my daughter]. ‘
He continued, “Doing 10 days without a break was pretty fun. She is 14 months old. Walk everywhere.
As for his symptoms, Ed revealed he had “headaches, body aches, tight chest, cough and couldn’t taste” – classic signs of COVID-19 infection.
Always the joker, he added, “I brought in a vindaloo. They say you can’t taste it, but there’s still sweat and heat.”
In good company: Ed and Cherry were accompanied by a bodyguard as they ventured into New York on Tuesday afternoon
