To be honest, the only way for dialogues like “I’ll beat your ass like a Cherokee drum” sending shivers down the enemy’s spine and not making them laugh is when the guy saying this is more or less invincible like Johnson.

Who inspired Dwayne Johnson’s idea to include a bizarre clause in his contract?
Johnson isn’t the only lead actor in the hit action franchise who avoids looking like an inferior opponent during action sequences. In fact, it all started with Diesel. He apparently only likes three things: his family, his cars, and beating up individuals who attack one or both of the first two things.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the 56-year-old developed a system to which he assigned a numerical value to each hit received on screen. Additionally, he asked his younger sister to count the number of punches he received during a fight scene to ensure he complied with the terms of the contract.
Once Johnson and Jason Statham, another big guy who tends to find himself at the center of action scenes, realized this, they also came up with their own versions of instructions in their contracts. More work for action choreographers!
