Dwayne Johnson Realizes the Huge Potential of DC’s Next Film black adam. Slated for an October 21 release date, marketing has intensified for our anti-hero feature film. Additionally, Johnson and DC are beginning to explore the possibility of spinoffs from the film’s characters.
Pierce Brosnan plays Dr. Fate in black adam, Aldis Hodge is Hawkman and Noah Centineo is Atom Smasher. Any of these characters could get their own movie, and Johnson would love to see that happen. In the latest issue of Total Film, the black adam The actor says, “The whole point is really to expand the universe,” however, we don’t know how the DC team would do that under the new Warner Bros. regime. Discovery. CEO David Zaslav wants to create a 10-year plan for the DCEU, and this expansion of black adam can be part of it.
“The goal is to really expand the universe and introduce new characters and spin-offs, and to be really strategic about the plan. We have some ideas of what characters people are going to really react to in Black Adam. , and so we “I’m already thinking about, ‘Let’s start thinking about this movie and what it looks like to them.'”
Producer Hiram Garcia reiterates Johnson’s point, adding the possibility of crossovers that everyone has been looking forward to. Recent reports confirmed that Johnson had been pushing for Black Adam to get his own movie, aside from something with Shazam. However, this does not exclude future couples.
“Whereas [Black Adam and Shazam] may not intersect, everything exists within one big umbrella of the DC Universe. And we want to be able to build the universe as big as possible, and, you know, with those ambitions. If everything is received as we hope, we have opportunities to potentially see crossovers on certain points.”
Dwayne Johnson wants to see a Marvel Crossover event
Marvel has its schedule scheduled through 2025, with Avengers: Secret Wars, the culmination of Phase 6 and the multiverse saga the MCU currently finds itself in. However, Dwayne Johnson is leaving the door open for a possible crossover event with DC and Marvel somewhere down the line. The actor told Total Film, “For me, not only can they exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths one day.”
“I’m optimistic. Just my nature is optimistic. And especially when it comes to creativity. Especially when it comes to movies. And especially when it comes to DC’s pantheon of superheroes and villains. Across the street we have Marvel’s Hall of Fame Super Heroes and Super Villains, and to me, not only can they exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths someday.
The amount of planning and work required for these franchises to cross paths is immense. Still, the film would undoubtedly be a blockbuster that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, would like to see. So, for now, let’s wait for the release of black adam in October and see if the film is worthy of spinoffs and sequels.
