Bills quarterback Josh Allen could use some help. And receiver DeAndre Hopkins could be the player to provide a lot of that.
DraftKings installed the Invoices as +300 favorites to be the team Hopkins takes his next shot with, followed by the Chiefs at +400, Ravens at +650 and Jets at +750.
The fact that the top four teams are in the AFC suggests that Hopkins will become the next highly talented player to leave the NFC for the heavyweight AFC.
Hopkins could benefit from a bidding war between suitors. The team that gets it also prevents another team from getting it, increasing its value to one of the AFC’s top franchises. And whoever gets it will indeed experience a significant increase in perceived/actual prospects for the 2023 season.
This becomes one of the rare opportunities that arises every year for a team to roll the dice on a difference maker, especially if that team will have to compete with the player if/when he signs with another team. That would seem like exactly the kind of decision the Bills need to make, if they really want to knock out the Chiefs and Bengals and get back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 30 years.
