Land register documents show the actress, who grew up in Esher, Surrey, bought the Grade II listed house in north London without a lender in November.
A month earlier, she had been spotted in Rome in a compromising embrace with married actor Dominic West, her co-star in an upcoming TV adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s Pursuit of Love.
In recent weeks, she has filmed What’s Love Got To Do With It ?, which also stars Dame Emma Thompson, in Suffolk, where she was first pictured with Shuman, 35.
The rocker kissed her as she got into a car outside a boutique hotel last month before waving her to leave.

Miss James and Shuman have yet to publicly confirm they are dating.
The actress is no stranger to North London having lived there with Doctor Who and The Crown star Matt Smith.
The two ended their five-year romance at the end of 2019, although they reportedly tried to reconcile during the first nationwide lockdown.
Miss James’ next project will play Baywatch star Pamela Anderson in the upcoming Hulu Pam and Tommy series about the whirlwind romance between former Playboy model and American rock star Tommy Lee.
