You wouldn’t have thought Lily James would run out of admirers sending her flowers.

Still, the Downton Abbey actress was seen shopping for her own flowers last week, packing up bouquets during a shopping spree near her north London home.

The 31-year-old decided to brighten up her day amid rumors that her romantic relationship with former Doctor Who star Matt Smith has hit the pads again.

Reports suggest the two decided to remain friends after struggling to make their relationship work.

Lily was pictured – properly masked – as she nibbled at a florist on a mid-morning trip to shops in Primrose Hill, north London.

Casually dressed in a cardigan, jeans and sneakers, with an oversized mac to avoid the chill of fall, she stopped by a beauty store and bookstore while waiting for her flower arrangements to be packed .

“ She wandered the main street for a few minutes, browsing the stores, and no one paid attention to her at all, ” one observer said. “It looked like flowers were at the top of her shopping list.

Lily, who played Lady Rose in the hit drama ITV, split from Smith, 37, last December after a five-year romance.

He followed claims he had become closer to actress Claire Foy, 36, his co-star in the first two series of The Crown.

Lily and Matt are believed to have got back together in May, but have now apparently called the time on their romance.

“ They’ve been going back and forth this year trying to sort things out because they both have so much love for each other, ” a friend said.

“ But sadly it just doesn’t work and they have mutually decided to close this chapter in their life.

“ They love each other and want to stay friends, but when it comes to their romance, she has told everyone it’s over for good. ”

The couple met on the set of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies in 2014 and started dating soon after.

Lily went on to star in the BBC1 version of War And Peace and this year filmed an adaptation of the Daphné du Maurier classic Rebecca for Netflix.
