Living life like Kobe Bryant might be an easy mantra for success, but every day would be the hardest you’ve ever lived.

Selected as the first-ever goalie straight out of high school, 17-year-old Kobe Bryant was expected to be on 7th heaven to become the 13th pick in what would prove to be one of the greatest drafts of all time. .

At the time, he wasn’t even old enough to sign his contract and needed his parents to do it with him. But he turned 18 before the start of the 96-97 season and signed his $3 million-plus rookie contract.

However, the teenager was determined and clear about what he was pursuing. He was well prepared to devote all his energy to achieving this. And he did it for two decades.

Kobe Bryant wants us to know how he did it, not just what he did

As fans, we usually focus on what our favorite athletes and celebrities do, which makes them great at what they do. But The Black Mamba wanted us to focus on the “How” part.

The 18x All-Star has done everything in his 20-year NBA career with a sheer determination to be the best. Whether he chose a path to emulate his idol, he wanted to leave Michael Jordan behind more than anything else in the world.

He may have missed that chase by a few miles, but his work ethic was something no one had ever seen before. The Mamba mentality he developed helped him do things that had never been done before.

The 5x champion is the only guard among players who have played 20 years or more and achieved more individual and team successes than all of those players except Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

This could be a reason why it peaks around its 17th year. The 9x All-Defensive First Team (NBA record) is also the only guard besides MJ in the Top 10 of the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Talk about versatility.

Again, we’ve sort of drifted into what it is. Alas! We still need time to tinker with how this legendary athlete, who even won an Oscar after retirement, did what he did for as long as he lived.
