Current records: Buffalo 2-0; Miami 2-0

What there is to know

The Buffalo Bills are 9-3 against the Miami Dolphins since October 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success on Sunday. The Bills and Miami will square off in an AFC East battle at 1 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium. Both of these teams set the bar high for this game after outstanding offensive performances in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Buffalo turned the game against the Tennessee Titans into a track meet and won the gold medal after outscoring them by 414 yards at 187. Buffalo was the clear winner by a margin of 41-7 on Tennessee. The game was nearly over by the end of the third, at which point Buffalo had established a 41-7 advantage. WR Stefon Diggs and QB Josh Allen were among the Bills’ top playmakers, with the former catching 12 passes for three touchdowns and 148 yards and the latter for four touchdowns and 317 yards on 38 attempts.

Buffalo’s defense was also present, holding the Titans to a paltry 187 yards. The defense had two interceptions and two fumbles. The picks came courtesy of FS Jordan Poyer and OLB Matt Milano.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins didn’t have too much wiggle room in their game against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but they still came away with a 42-38 victory. Miami was down 28-7 at the end of the half, but the team rallied for a dramatic comeback. QB Tua Tagovailoa had a stellar game for Miami passing for six touchdowns and 469 yards on 50 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Tagovailoa’s 60-yard TD bomb against WR Tyreek Hill in the fourth quarter.

The Bills are the favorites in this one, with an expected margin of victory of 5.5 points. They’ve been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (2-0), so could be worth a quick bet.

Their victories took the two teams to an identical score of 2-0. Both teams could be a little breathless after running the length of the pitch several times in their last games.
