Some of pop music’s biggest stars donate their fine sons to help raise funds for one of the Recording Academy’s most notable philanthropic efforts.
The wardrobe items of Dolly Parton, Katy Perry, BTS, Lionel Richie and Jason Aldean will be sold in a charity auction to benefit MusiCares of the Recording Academy, which helps provide medical and financial assistance to those who need it in the music industry.
The custom Louis Vuitton suits that BTS wore for their very first Grammy performance earlier this year are up for grabs, alongside a white and gold long sleeve dress worn by Dolly Parton in 2019 when she was honored by MusiCares. and a silver dress that Katy Perry performed in 2010 at a concert highlighting the Grammy nominees that year.
Aldean’s cowboy hats, a black jacket designed by David Thomas and worn by Lionel Richie during his performance at Glastonbury in 2015, and a Machine Gun Kelly guitar are also heading for auction.
The Vic Matie combat boots worn on stage by Demi Lovato and the Aurora Cuisssard Gianvito Rossi high heel boots will also be on sale.
Presented as an official “Grammy Week” event, the sale organized by Julien’s Auctions will take place on January 30, 2022.
The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on January 31 in Los Angeles.
