Found through a Reddit thread with a YouTube video in support, an owner of a 2011 Honda Civic has reached 500,000 miles without any major problem, especially with its engine and transmission. The Civic, which is a four-door LX sedan built in Canada (probably looks like the one in the photos above), was purchased by the current owner in 2015 with 32,000 miles on the clock.
According to the owner, it drains and fills the coolant and transmission fluid every 40,000 miles. The oil is changed every 10,000 to 12,000 miles.
In the video, you will see the actual moment when the owner has reached the 500,000 miles or 804,672 kilometers mark for those using the metric system. It was an incredible feat, we think, both for the car and for the owner who regularly drives behind the wheel.
