Comedian Dilruk Jayasinha WINS Immunity Pin on Celebrity MasterChef Australia Episode Debut for ‘Famous’ Rendang Beef Dish
Sunday’s first episode saw the stars have 90 minutes to wow the judges with a dish they’re most famous for, with access to the entire pantry.
And comedian Dilruk Jayasinha presented the most outstanding meal, earning an immunity pin for his beef rendang with a coconut rice and chilli onion sambal.
The 36-year-old had stiff competition with singer Dami Im, fashion designer Collette Dinnigan and radio host Chrissie Swan included in the Top Four Dishes.

Judge Melissa Leong praised Dilruk, saying of her recipe: “It was so delicious. I couldn’t fault it.
“You have this lovely kind of floral lemongrass, galangal, the warmth that comes with it. Chili, garlic, everything is there in good quantities and proportions. The meat is absolutely tender.
Dami presented a Korean dolsot bibimbap (bowl of rice) with soybean paste, while Collette cooked a roast chicken with a radicchio and arugula salad.

Chrissie also wowed the judges with a roast chicken from the marylands with baking potatoes and wilted spinach.
Dilruk couldn’t wipe the smile off his face when Judge Andy Allen announced he was the winner, earning him the coveted immunity pin.
“Did anyone see this coming?” He said in a song to the camera. “I won the immunity pin!” Like what?! I feel like I’m Gollum from The Lord of the Rings. It’s my precious!

Channel 10 announced the return of Celebrity MasterChef in May, 12 years after it was last broadcast.
The celebrities and judges will be joined by a selection of local and international guest judges, including Curtis Stone, Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.
