MANILA – Hollywood star Brad Pitt entered the beverage business as one of the founders of a tea brand with roots in the Philippines.
Enroot is marketed as a brand that offers “organic, small batch, slowly cold brew sparkling teas”.
It was co-founded by Pitt, Cristina Patwa and John Fogelman.
The products pay homage to Patwa’s Filipino grandmother, the company’s CEO.
“Enroot was co-founded by our CEO Cristina Patwa as a tribute to her grandmother’s legacy as a smallholder farmer and food entrepreneur in the Philippines. Her most sincere memories and personal experiences are a driving force for us to give back to the Sisters of the Food community, ”according to the brand’s website.
Enroot brews their teas for 20 hours in California, using ingredients from organic farms around the world.
Its offerings include Relax: Strawberry Lavender Rosemary Tulsi; Reenergize: Mango Turmeric Ginger Guayusa; Revitalize: White peony and raspberry mint tea; Revive: Apple Lemon Cayenne Yerba Mate; and rejuvenate: peach green tea, hibiscus and jasmine.
The products cost $ 24.99 (approx. P1211.47) per six-pack case and are available on the Enroot website and in select grocery stores in Southern California.
