In case you missed it, there’s a new generation Lexus NX that made its world debut just before the weekend. The compact crossover, now with a PHEV model, came with several upgrades that you would love to hear about.
But during its press conference, some may have missed the part where Lexus teased the next model to be launched this year. We’ve embedded the video at the top of this page and you can take about 7 minutes to see what we’re talking about.
Under a car cover and accompanied by rare information, we believe the big Lexus model is the next generation Lexus LX. This can be easily deduced with the larger and longer shape compared to the adjacent NX, as well as the different style fascia protruding slightly from the covers.
At this point, we’d like to disclose that we might be wrong in our guess, but given that the new Toyota Land Cruiser has already been revealed, it’s no exaggeration to think the revamped LX is set for a world premiere this year. too.
As mentioned, information is scarce on the next-gen LX. But looking at the recently unveiled Land Cruiser, we can expect the new LX to roll on the new TNGA-F platform as well. The newly developed 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 could also find its way into the luxurious full-size SUV, developing 409 horsepower (305 kilowatts) and 479 pound-feet (650 Newton-meters) of torque as with the LC300.
At this point we will be looking for additional information on the new LX. We think we’ll get more as the launch date draws closer, but for now all we’ve got is this massive SUV under a car cover.
