Details of Kim Kardashian and Ye’s Divorce Settlement Emerge

Kim Kardashian and Ye have reached an agreement in their divorce, according to court documents filed in Los Angeles.

The former couple will have joint custody of their four children, aged three to nine.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, will pay Kardashian $200,000 (£166,000) a month in child support – and they will also split the cost of private security, private education and their children’s college.

Neither will pay the other’s child support, and they will each pay their own debts.

Court documents filed Tuesday sought a judge’s approval of the terms, which the former couple agreed to.

Ye and Kardashian had a prenuptial agreement and kept their property largely separate.

It comes eight years after they married in the Italian city of Florence in 2014, and nearly a year after Kardashian first filed for divorce.

In March this year, a judge declared them legally celibate at his request.

They appeared to be heading for a cordial separation – but Ye went wild on social media with reality TV star Kardashian, her family and then-boyfriend Pete Davidson.

He complained of not being allowed to make important parenting decisions and being excluded from important milestones for his children, such as birthday parties.

Kardashian called her attacks “hurtful”, accusing her former husband of making co-parenting “impossible every step of the way”.

Explained: Kanye West’s anti-Semitism controversy

Ye, a 45-year-old rapper who has fired two lawyers since filing for divorce, had wanted the right to question any new Kardashian husband under oath, which a judge denied.

News of the settlement comes with Ye’s reputation having been tarnished by his offensive and anti-Semitic remarks, which prompted several companies to cut ties with him.
