The Denver Broncos announced on Monday the hiring of Kelly Kleine as the team’s executive director of football operations.
Kleine, who has spent the past 10 years with the Minnesota Vikings, is considered the highest ranked woman in recognition in league history.
“Kelly is a rising star in the NFL, and we are fortunate to add someone of his caliber to the Denver Broncos,” said Broncos general manager George Paton. “Having worked with her for nine years in Minnesota, Kelly has a solid understanding of all aspects of football operations and player evaluation, as well as exceptional leadership qualities.
Kleine will serve as the primary liaison for the team’s football operations department, while playing a major role in the team’s professional and college scouting – an area she has worked extensively in Minnesota.
Along with the Vikings, she also helped manage the team’s draft operations and led the team’s draft board at meetings.
Kleine will also have the title of Special Advisor to the CEO and will report directly to Paton.
