Demand that the Biden administration end its war on US oil and gas – Kevin Cramer

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, joined Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and his colleagues in asking the administration Biden to end his assault on domestic oil and gas production and continue selling oil and gas leases on federal lands and waters. The push comes in response to the U.S. Department of the Interior’s draft proposal for the Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program, in which the department hinted it could cancel future lease sales for next five years.

“American families are struggling to cope with rising costs due to inflation, high energy prices and ongoing supply chain issues,” write the senators. “It is our duty to do everything in our power to help ease these burdens and remove this uncertainty for Americans and our allies.”

“One of the most effective ways to do this is to increase future oil and natural gas production through the certainty of long-term leases,” continued the senators. “The Department can help home energy production and put U.S. energy consumers first.”

Senators Cramer and Cassidy were joined by Senators John Barrasso (R-WY), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Jim Risch (R-ID), Roger Wicker (R-MS), John Cornyn (R-TX) , John Kennedy (R-LA), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Steve Daines (R-MT), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Dan Sullivan (R-AK) , Mike Braun (R-IN), James Lankford (R-OK), John Hoeven (R-ND), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Mike Crapo (R-ID), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).
