Dejan Kulusevski admitted he was not happy at Juventus and said his “world had changed” at Tottenham.
The 22-year-old joined the north London club in January on an initial 18-month loan with an option to buy, which would become a bond if certain conditions were met.
There is no doubt that Spurs want to keep him as he has been a revelation since his arrival and a fan favourite.
In 18 Premier League appearances last season, he scored five times and had eight assists.
And the striker has enjoyed a strong start to the 2022/23 campaign, with three assists and one goal.
Kulusevski loved working with Antonio Conte and explained the differences between him and Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri.
“Honestly, the difference between the two is huge,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Their ideas are completely different. In London you work more indoors and the results are visible.
“From Juve to Spurs, my world has changed.”
He continued: “Mentally, I always went on the pitch to give my best. At Juve, on the other hand, it did not work despite my commitment.
“Of course at Juventus I didn’t feel very well for various reasons and when you realize that things are not going well then it’s hard to turn back while staying in the same environment.
“So the choice to leave Italy was the best I could have done in this situation.”
Kulusevski added further praise to Conte that he is in much better shape now than when he was at Juve.
“At Tottenham, my body changed, mainly thanks to the indoor exercises, in no time,” he added.
“We work a lot every day and better than me in Italy. I love the way we train in London and the credit goes to our coach. I am very happy to play for him.
“I have never known a motivated person like him in my life. When he speaks, it enters your heart.
