David Kaufmanisn’t going to ghost in the conversation about who should play Danny Phantom in the live-action film… telling TMZ he has clear ideas when it comes to casting.
The actor – who played the title character in all 53 episodes of the TV series and reprized his role in subsequent films and video games… told us he’s all for it. Tom Holland playing DP although he thinks Spider-Man might be done with superheroes for a while.
Here’s the deal… Butch Hartmancreator of a whole series of well-known animated series for Nickelodeon in the 2000s, recently spoke at MegaCon in Orlando and said that if there ever was a live-action “Danny Phantom” movie, he would only want Tom Holland in the role.
For those who don’t know, “Danny Phantom” follows a teenager named Danny Fenton who gained ghostly abilities after a portal to another world exploded and turned him into a half-human, half-ghost.
A big if of course…nothing like this has been put into production or even announced as far as we know – but it’s still something that Kaufman really thought about, and he decided that TH was a good fit for him. he wanted it. do it.
DK pointed out that Tom is heading to the West End for a production of “Romeo and Juliet”… a fact that David thinks is great for him as it’s a departure from the superhero roles Holland has nailed at this point of her career.
Frankly, it’s not hard to imagine Tom wanting to pursue different types of roles in the future, because the dude is a talented tour de force.
But Kaufman didn’t just oppose Butch’s idea… he also suggested a few castings of his own — the ‘Stranger Things’ actor Noah Schnapp like Danny and Billie, fucking Eilish like his friend-turned-lover Sam.
David praised Noah for his comedic timing, saying he thinks it’s an integral part of Danny’s character – so any actor who plays him needs to know how to get around a joke. And just look for some photos of the characters…pretty perfect casting, at least in terms of looks.
Billie doesn’t have much acting experience, but that’s never stopped Hollywood before…and she’s up for her second Oscar for Best Original Song, so maybe she’ll be inspired to try acting.
Someone from Nickelodeon better start making calls…they wouldn’t want an opportunity like this to come back and haunt them!
