Support for the England team poured in from all over the country after the Lionesses reached the Euro 2022 final on Tuesday.

And ahead of Sunday’s big decider at Wembley Stadium, some of football’s biggest names got involved in support.

English football icon David Beckham, who had already thanked the Lionesses for being role models for his daughter earlier this week, was on the side of those who rushed to support them.

Writing on his Instagram Story after the win, Beckham wrote: “What a night congratulations girls.”

Speaking the morning after the game, Arsenal legend and women’s football defender Ian Wright explained how England’s run to the Euros illustrates how far women’s football has come.

“Women’s football is here and it’s here to stay. What we see with these ladies, and the way they inspire everyone, is that there’s no stopping it,” Wright told the BBC.

“I love it, I hope they can finish it just because they deserve it.”

Current England men’s defender Harry Maguire was also in the Sheffield stands to support the Lionesses on Tuesday.

And the Manchester United captain sent his congratulations to Sarina Wiegman’s side after the match.

“What a team and what a performance,” he said.

“Lions, an honor to be here tonight, now go earn it.”

English skipper Harry Kane also got involved by sending a message to our proud finalists.

Euro fever has even been given a royal seal of approval, with the Royal Family throwing their support behind the Lionesses.

On Wednesday morning, the Duke of Cambridge – chairman of the Football Association – sent a very special message to the Wiegman daughters after their huge victory.

“Congratulations to the Lionesses for taking part in the #WEURO2022 final on Sunday,” Prince William wrote.

“The whole country is so proud of everything you do. We believe in you and will be with you all the way!

And the Royal Family weren’t the only ones to send their support alongside Wiegman, even the local Sheffield Fire Service got involved.

“We are receiving reports of footballers on fire at Bramall Lane,” the South Yorkshire Fire Twitter account wrote.
