It’s never a good idea to sue Taylor Swift and her musical credibility. English musician and songwriter Damon Albarn has apologized to Taylor Swift after claiming she ‘doesn’t write her own songs’, according to Result.
While about his show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on January 24 to support his second solo album, The closer the fountain, the purer the stream flows, said Albarn Los Angeles Time Pop music critic Mikael Wood said that just playing piano and strings is “actually quite difficult, doing a whole gig on the piano”. He said: “You can’t hide behind anything. It’s a day of reckoning and, to be honest, not much modern music could resist. Wood claimed that Swift’s songwriting was qualified enough for this kind of performance, Albarn replied, “She doesn’t write her own songs.”
Albarn added: “[Co-writing] does not count. I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different from writing. I don’t hate anyone, I’m just saying there’s a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes. That’s not to say the result can’t be really great… I guess I’m a traditionalist in that sense.
Granted, Swift didn’t appreciate Albarn’s comments and chose to defend herself.
@DamonAlbarn I was such a fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL my own songs. Your hot plug is completely wrong and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really shitty trying to discredit my songwriting. WOW. https://t.co/t6GyXBU2Jd

Albarn quickly apologized and attempted to make amends.
I totally agree with you. I had a conversation about songwriting and unfortunately it boiled down to a clickbait. I apologize unreservedly and unconditionally. The last thing I want to do is discredit your composition. I hope you understand. –Damon

Hopefully Swift accepts her apology and the two artists can put the situation behind them.
