It was great news when Dakota johnson won the role of Anastasia Steele, the heroine of the Fifty shades novels EL James, for their adaptation on the big screen. When the actor spoke Marie Claire in February 2018, she retained a streak from this year Fifty shades lighter, the third film of the trilogy, as “the most difficult by far”. The scene takes place in Christian’s red room, where he holds Anastasia.
“I was handcuffed with my arms and legs to the door,” Johnson recalls as he filmed the scene. “It’s like a falling fence thing. And I was blindfolded.”
She said that no matter how many times she had to wear the blindfold, her helplessness took her by surprise.
“And it was quite shocking,” she continued. “Because I didn’t realize that no matter how prepared or rehearsed I was, when your senses are taken away like that, you can’t control how your nervous system is going to react. So it was really hard. to navigate this scene. “

Johnson explained in the Marie Claire interview that during filming Fifty shades, she wore a strapless thong during the sex scenes to have “a certain feeling of being covered”. It was supposed to stick to her body, but it wouldn’t always stay put.
“[The thong] would also come off because the adhesive would wear away, so they would stick it to my body so it wouldn’t fall off, “she said.” It’s not painful, I mean, it’s next to nothing … It’s fucking weird. “
Johnson also opened up to the magazine about how she and Dornan worked with experts, who understood “how to use certain tools and toys,” to give an accurate portrayal of the practice of BDSM.
