American rapper DaBaby apologized after a video was released of him hitting a fan in the face in Florida.
In the images, a fan can see his smartphone in the eyes of the rapper with the flash on while walking in a crowd. We then see him hitting the woman.
“I sincerely apologize. I do,” said DaBaby in a statement on his Instagram story.
The top star said he didn’t realize the fan was a woman.
“I am very sorry that there is a woman on the other end of this flashlight on their phone,” he continued.
“But you know, keep in mind, I couldn’t see you because you had the flash so close to me. Which is fine, that’s okay. A lot of people have done it – they didn’t put it as close as you put it “- but a lot of people flashed at me, and that’s fine. That’s why I signed up. “
The crowd booed the star after hitting the woman and he left without performing any songs.
The star, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, reiterated that the problem was that the flash was so close to his eye, and said it would also hit the person if it had been a man.
“Out of all these fans – how many people know how to zoom? Just zoom in instead of popping my eyes on the phone,” he said.
“But I apologize that there was a woman at the other end. I think at that time, you know that it is a well-known fact that male or female, I would have replied from the same exact way. “
DaBaby’s latest album Kirk has reached the top of the US charts when it was released in November.
He received two Grammy nominations this year – for best rap song and best rap performance for his single Suge. He also appears on Camila Cabello’s current single, My Oh My.
But DaBaby has had several problems with the law since it came under the spotlight. In January, he was arrested on a battery charge in Miami after arguing with a music promoter over payment for a performance.
