Cynthia Nixon comments on her run for New York governor while promoting revival series on NBC talk show
Cynthia Nixon promoted her revival series while taking a swipe at Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday during a talk show appearance.
The 55-year-old actress, during her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, was reminded by the host that she was running for governor of New York the last time she was on the show .
“It was,” Cynthia confirmed.

“And you didn’t win,” Seth said.
“No,” Cynthia agreed.
“But the guy who won, things didn’t go well for him,” Seth said as the studio audience laughed.
“And just like that, Andrew Cuomo was out of a job,” joked Cynthia, who stars in HBO Max’s revival “And Just Like That…” as Miranda Hobbes.

“And just like that, what a lovely bond, what a lovely bond,” Seth told Cynthia.
Cuomo, 64, resigned as governor of New York last August amid multiple accusations of sexual harassment.
“You know, the difference between him and me is that neither of us are governors, but I still have to keep my Emmys,” Cynthia joked.

Cuomo was stripped of the 2020 International Emmy Special Award given to him in November 2020 for his briefings on the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s true, he couldn’t even keep his Emmy,” Seth said.
Cynthia said her main concern with the Sex And The City revival was that it couldn’t just be a reboot.

“It can’t be that same show 25 years, almost 25 years later.” We are very different people. The world is different. It was still an incredibly white show, which wasn’t so cool at the time and really, obviously, that needs to be changed,’ Cynthia said.
“We were very successful in that first show, but we got some things wrong, and we had a chance to go back and change them,” she added.
The 10-episode revival And Just Like That… premiered Dec. 9 on HBO Max.
