Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Nassr: Portuguese superstar to reveal his next club after World Cup with news of €500m deal with Saudi club

Cristiano Ronaldo’s proposed transfer to Saudi side Al Nassr seems to be getting closer.

The Portugal international left Manchester United last month and was offered a huge deal worth around 500m euros (£430m) to move to the Middle East.

Ronaldo shocked the footballing world after his explosive interview with TalkTV host Piers Morgan, in which he criticized the Red Devils and their manager Erik ten Hag.

This led to Man United and Ronaldo agreeing an early termination of his contract.

As first reported by MARCA, Ronaldo has been offered a two-and-a-half-year deal with Al Nassr to move to Saudi Arabia.

The contract is believed to be worth £173million a year and would make the 37-year-old the highest paid athlete in the world.

Premier League giants Chelsea and former club Sporting Lisbon have both linked themselves on a transfer, but Al Nassr have reportedly shown ‘the most interest from the start’.

Now Marca report that Ronaldo has accepted the offer and will join the Saudi squad on January 1.

However, despite the reports, it is understood that Ronaldo won’t reveal any decision regarding his future until after the World Cup.

Ronaldo is currently taking part in the World Cup with Portugal, with the striker having scored just once so far in this year’s tournament in Qatar.

They will then face Switzerland in the round of 16 on Wednesday.

Once back in club football, Ronaldo may well stay in the Middle East.

A move to Al Nassr would be his first spell outside Europe, following his glittering career, which started with Sporting Lisbon and won major trophies with Man United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
