Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have put his Manchester derby setback behind him, with the star seen in hysterics during training.
The 37-year-old was in high spirits as the Red Devils prepared for their Europa League clash against Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia on Thursday – which is LIVE on talkSPORT 2.
In a video posted online, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner showed off his usual trickery and can be seen nutmeg-ing with team-mate and defender Lisandro Martinez.
In a session known as ‘Rondo’, the Argentina defender stood in the middle as he tried to win the ball back before Ronaldo rammed it into his legs.
Ronaldo can then be seen bursting into laughter in what was a very humorous moment.
His mood was certainly very different to Sunday’s, after being left on the bench as United suffered a 6-3 loss to Premier League rivals Man City.
His snub has heightened questions surrounding Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford, with the Portugal international linked with a move away from United in the January transfer window.
Ronaldo has started just three of the Red Devils opening nine appearances in all competitions, including two in the Europa League.
His only goal so far this season came last time in Europe’s secondary club competition against Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol in a 2-0 win.
However, manager Erik ten Hag has dismissed reports of Ronaldo’s future at United, insisting he is “happy” at the club and “training well”.
Although he admitted CR7 was ‘p***** off’ to being left on the bench against City.
“It has nothing to do with what happens for the future, what happens for January or next year,” Ten Hag said when asked why Ronaldo didn’t play.
“I don’t see that he’s unhappy, so he’s happy. He trains well.
“He’s having fun, I think everyone is training well. It’s a good mindset in training.
“He’s not happy he didn’t play on Sunday, don’t get me wrong, but that wasn’t the point. The question was how he is on the training ground, his mood when he is there and if he is happy.
“But of course he wants to play and he’s p***** when he’s not playing. Clear.”
Ten Hag will be eager to see a reaction from his generation of underachieving stars this weekend when they travel to face Everton, but before them they will be looking to bounce back in the Europa League, where Ronaldo is likely to return to the XI. departure. .
