In just over a year, Cristiano Ronaldo has played under four different managers for club and country.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag all managed him at Manchester United, but the 37-year-old’s latest change of boss came with his national team.

Ronaldo hasn’t said anything yet about Santos leaving

Portugal boss Fernando Santos was recently sacked as manager following his departure in the World Cup quarter-final against Morocco after eight years in the job.

However, the difference in Ronaldo’s responses to the respective departures of Solskjaer and Santos is very clear to see.

When it was announced that the former was leaving his United job, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner posted a heartfelt message on social media.

“He was my striker when I came to Old Trafford and he’s been my manager since I came back to Man United,” Ronaldo said.

“But above all, Ole is an exceptional human being. I wish him the best in all that his life has in store for him. Good luck my friend! You deserve it!”

Ronaldo posted his message just a day after Solskjaer’s departure but has yet to say anything about Santos.

But he was quick to thank Solskjaer when he left United

The 68-year-old won his first international trophy in Portugal in 2016 when they won the Euros final against France.

His contract was supposed to last until 2024, but his tenure is now over.

He was unhappy with Ronaldo’s reaction to being substituted in their World Cup loss to South Korea, with the footballing legend being benched for the remainder of the tournament.

Ronaldo’s girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, lashed out at the Porgtugal boss in a strong-worded Instagram post following the Portugal exit.

However, Santos was quick to insist he had a ‘close relationship’ with the striker given the length of their collaboration.

It remains to be seen if Ronaldo will say anything publicly about his now former international manager, with Portugal set to seek his next nomination before the Euros in 2024.
