The second round of this year’s draft will take place Friday in Detroit as the next group of prospects learn their fate.

Ahead of the second round, fans are remembering some iconic draft moments over the past few years.

None are more memorable than CeeDee Lamb’s awkward interaction with girlfriend Crymson Rose in 2020.

Former Oklahoma wide receiver Lamb was sitting on his couch at home alongside his girlfriend during draft night that year.

Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy were selected 13th and 15th respectively and ultimately Lamb slid to the Dallas Cowboys at 17th overall.

At one point, cameras captured Lamb on the phone in Dallas when his girlfriend grabbed a second phone that received a call.

Before he could answer it, Lamb immediately picked it up with one hand and shook his head while he was still on a call with the Cowboys.

Fans at the time went wild over the awkward moment and it resurfaced again this year.

“Let’s go back to when CeeDee Lamb gave us the greatest moment in NFL Draft history,” one person said while sharing the video with X.

“Still waiting for an NFLcDraft moment to be as funny as CeeDee Lamb getting his phone back,” another wrote.

Embarrassing footage shows Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot explaining why he selected Michael Penix Jr. in the NFL draft to owner Arthur Blank.

After the video took off, Rose spoke to X to explain what really happened.

“His agent was FACETIMING him while he was on the phone with the Cowboys,” she tweeted.

“I was doing the GF thing. I’ll answer for her. Sheesh.”

Lamb also came to his girlfriend’s defense, posting: “You really need to relax. It wasn’t even like that.”

Lamb hasn’t looked back since draft night and has become one of the brightest young players in the league.

He made two All-Pro teams and three Pro Bowls and finished as the NFL’s receiving leader in 2023.

Last year, the 25-year-old set team records for receptions (135, best in the NFL) and yards (1,749), while his 395 catches for 5,145 yards were the most in franchise history for a player in his first four seasons in the NFL.

He is now entering the final year of his rookie contract and has not yet been extended.

Lamb is set to earn $17.99 million guaranteed through his fifth-year option and will be looking to get paid following the news that Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown recently agreed to a four-year, $120 million extension years.

The Cowboys also need to address other key contract extensions this offseason, including Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons.
