Taste wine while you make pottery on Thursday
Head to the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center for a pottery throwing class this Thursday, September 22.
Sip and Spin classes combine pottery making with beer and wine drinking. Registration includes two seats for you and one guest, six books of clay and tools, and two drink tickets that can be redeemed for drinks.
Sip and Spin is at 6:30 a.m. The cost is $100 per session, you can register here. The Cary Saurage Community Arts Center is located at 233 St. Ferdinand Street.
Jam to Taylor Swift songs on Thursday
Calling all Taylor Swift fans! Chelsea’s Live is hosting a Taylor Swift-themed party called “Cruel Summer Ends” this Thursday, September 22.
This dance party includes a DJ set by JT O’Neal which will feature all of Swift’s hits as well as songs from similar artists like One Direction. The party will celebrate the birthday of Gabrielle Feld, Chelsea’s head of marketing and in-house photographer. Celebrate with a free cover and all-night drink specials. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to sing your heart out.

Get your dose of country music on Friday
Country singer Gary Allan is stopping at Raising Cane’s River Center this Friday, September 23.
The country artist Ruthless The tour is named after his most recent album, which tells the story of his career from the 90s to today. Along with new songs, you’re sure to hear some classics like “Watching Airplanes” and “Her Man.”

Laugh and Listen Friday
Get ready for an evening of entertainment with the Mid-City Artisans Music and Improv show this Friday, September 23.
New Orleans Group Tiffany Pollack & Co. will take the stage to provide the tunes for the musical portion of the show. Then, 225 Theater Collective will present their improvisation number to end the evening.
The show is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased here. Mid-City Artisans is at 516 Moore St.
Take part in a fun race on Saturday
Get ready for a bright and colorful day at the Family Color Run at the West Baton Rouge Parish Library this Saturday, September 24.
Dress the whole family in their best plain white t-shirts, because once the race begins, the colorful dust will fly off and you’ll all be covered in bright hues from head to toe. The library will also host airbrush body painting and a pre-race party before the race kicks off.
Check in for the race at 9:30am before it starts at 10am. This event is free and open to the public. The library is located at 830 North Alexander Ave. in Port Allen.
Listen to California rock on Sundays
folk rock group Dawes will take the stage at the Manship Theater this Sunday, September 25.
This Southern California band is ready to give Southern Louisiana a taste of their sound. This band toured with rock band The Killers and even featured their music in the movie I want you to come back.
