In November 2022, Taylor announced that she would launch the Tour of eras is set to hit US stadiums from March 2023 through August. The tour marks the singer’s first tour in three years since her 2018 Reputation tour.

Following the news, fans raced for tickets during the November 17 presale – and it didn’t make it past “All Too Well.” Many Swifties were furious to discover that they had been excluded from the general sale for the singer’s highly anticipated “Anti-Hero” tour.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on the ticketing systems and insufficient ticket inventory remaining to meet this demand, tomorrow’s public onsale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster tweeted after the presale.

Taylor took to her Instagram Story on Nov. 18 to address the ticket fiasco. “Good. It goes without saying that I’m extremely protective of my fans. We’ve been doing this together for decades and over the years I’ve brought so many elements of my career in-house. I’ve done this SPECIFICALLY for improve the quality of my fan experience by doing it myself with my team who cares as much about my fans as I do,” the “Maroon” singer wrote. “It’s really hard for me to trust an outside entity with those connections and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen without recourse.”

The “Blank Space” singer added that she was “trying to figure out how this situation can be improved in the future.”

“I’m not going to excuse anyone, because we asked them several times if they could handle this type of request and we were assured that they could,” she continued, appearing to respond to the Ticketmaster’s lack of preparation. “It’s really amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they’ve suffered multiple bear attacks to get them.”

Taylor then thanked her fans and concluded by addressing fans who were unable to purchase tickets, saying, “All I can say is that my hope is to give us more opportunities. to get together and sing these songs.”
