R&B singer Joyce Sims has died aged 63.

His death was announced in a Facebook post by event organizer CJ Carlos, who also worked at Chelsea Football Club, on Saturday night.

He wrote: ‘After speaking to her immediate family tonight, it is with a heavy heart that I post this news Joyce Sims has passed away. Joyce was an incredible singer-songwriter who was so successful in the 80s.

“As most of you know, she was going to be one of our American artists in Portugal next May. My heart goes out to his partner Errol and their children and close family.

Joyce’s cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Joyce is best known for her single Come Into My Life, which reached the top 10 on the US Billboard R&B Chart and the UK Singles Chart in 1987.

The musician went on to release tracks such as Lifetime Love, Je me surrender and Crazy Love – with artists such as Snoop Dogg and Angie Stone sampling her work.
