The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating reports Saturday of a possible oil leak near two oil rigs off the coast of Orange County.
Orange County officials received a report late Friday of a two to three mile long mud trail near two oil rigs, nicknamed Orange County Board of Supervisors Elly and Ellen . Katrina Foley tweeted Saturday morning.
There have also been reports of dead fish and seabirds eating the fish, Foley said in the tweet.
Officials patrolling the Orange County coast have yet to notice any sparkle on the water.
An officer walks the beach Saturday looking for tarballs but has yet to find any, Foley said.
Foley should tweet more as updates become available.
