The Kansas City area is currently home to six Bed Bath & Beyond locations, but the struggling retailer is set to wipe all but one of those locations from the map.
What began last weekend with the announcement of a store closure at 15335 W. 119th St. in Olathe quickly expanded to encompass four other locations.
Although Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. did not disclose the list of new closures, calls to area stores have confirmed that the following additional locations will be closing in the near future:
- 8201 NW Roanridge Road in Kansas City (Barrywoods Crossing Mall)
- 15400 Shawnee Mission Parkway to Shawnee (Shawnee Station)
- 19950 W. Jackson Drive in Independence (Harman Heritage Lodges)
- 1648 NW Chipman Road to Lee’s Summit (Summitwoods Crossing)
Clearance sales for all four sites began Saturday morning.
Then on Tuesday, Bed Bath & Beyond announced it would close 150 more stores, likely to include those four locations.
