Leonard will miss Game 5 of the Los Angeles Series against the Jazz on Wednesday night with a right knee injury that the Clippers called a sprain today. Neither the team’s announcement nor Charania’s report indicate Kawhi is undergoing an MRI on his injured knee, but that would likely be the next step in determining if there is damage to the ACL.
A full ACL tear would be the worst-case scenario for Leonard and the Clippers, but even a partial tear would almost certainly be an end to the season – it’s the injury that kept it going Spencer dinwiddie on the shelves since December. The timing couldn’t be much worse for Leonard and the Clippers, who have won back-to-back games against Utah and are only two games away from the Western Conference Finals for the first time in team history. .
