Christian Cinema partners with Sony AFFIRM, Add THE STAR and other family films

Sony Pictures AFFIRM Films and AFFIRM Originals join Christian Cinema for upcoming releases.
Christian Cinema is one of the leading digital platforms for religious and family films.
“We are thrilled to partner with the team at AFFIRM Films and Sony Pictures to add their content to Christian cinema,” said Doug Weiss, Director of Media Platforms, in a recent press release. “They have inspiring, high-quality films about faith and family that our audience craves.”

First on the list of films added to the platform is the Movieguide® Award-winning faith-filled project, THE STAR. HACHI: A DOG’S TALE will also be available for rental and purchase on Christian Cinema.

THE STAR is a wonderful, hilarious and deeply reverent family animated film centered on the birth of Jesus, but from the perspective of a humble donkey named Bo. Bo and his best friend, Dave the dove, dream of joining the royal parade. When Bo escapes the clutches of his owner, he finds himself accompanying a pregnant Mary and her husband Joseph on the way to Bethlehem. Bo may be part of a bigger adventure than he expected. However, the wicked King Herod has his best soldier searching for the pregnant Mary.
THE STAR is great fun, with wonderful lessons along the way. A touching story from a unique perspective, THE STAR stands apart from many other nativity movies. Obviously, the film condenses and shifts a few incidents found in the Bible, but never sacrifices a very strong biblical Christian theology. However, the film deftly balances goofy animal fun with a deeply redemptive reverence for God and the birth of Jesus Christ. Overall, THE STAR is almost devoid of objectionable content. It’s a must-see Christmas movie for everyone.
