‘The definition of it is monotony’: Christian Bale admits he didn’t enjoy his first green screen acting experience on the set of Thor: Love and Thunder
Christian Bale admits he didn’t enjoy working on Thor: Love And Thunder in a candid new interview with GQ.
The 47-year-old, who plays Gorr the Butcher God, performed in front of a green screen for the first time in the Marvel Comics-based film and hated the experience.

He recalled, “I mean, the definition of it is monotony. You have good people. You have other actors who are much more experienced than me. Can you tell one day from the next? No. Absolutely not.
The Oscar-winning artist noted that he often needed help from crew members while working on the film.
He said: “I couldn’t even tell one stage from the next. They kept saying, “You’re on the third step. Well, it’s like, “Which one is that?” “The blue”…I was like, “Uh, where?”
Working through it: Bale remarked that he was unfamiliar with the format before working on Thor: Love And Thunder, and said that, for him, one day passed to the next during the filming process.
Bale then said he was a fan of the Thor movies and jumped at the chance to join the franchise.
‘I was like, ‘That sounds like an intriguing character, maybe I could do something with that, who knows? And I liked Ragnarok, he said.
The performer, who is well known for using method acting techniques on set, said he toned down his approach for Thor: Love and Thunder.
He said: “It would have been a pitiful attempt to do that. As I try to get help getting my fangs in and out and explaining that I broke a nail or tripped over the tunic.

Bale also said he’s since become a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe entries.
“I love these movies. I love them. There’s a vibe and a moment for everyone, and I’m a firm believer that every type of movie can be done brilliantly,” he said.
Thor: Love and Thunder was already released on July 8.
The film centered on the superhero of the same name and followed him as he attempted to stop Gorr the Butcher God from assassinating all the gods in the pantheon.

In addition to Bale, the Taika Waititi-directed film featured artists such as Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Russell Crowe.
The feature film received a mixed to positive response from critics and audiences upon its premiere.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film earned nearly $761 million during its release period.
Waititi has expressed interest in directing a follow-up feature to the Marvel Comics-based film.
