Good things always come in pairs in the epics of SS Rajamouli! After Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in Baahubali and Ram Charan and NTR Jr in RRR, the ace filmmaker seems to have found another massive star in Chris Hemsworth to join Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in his next worldwide action adventure.
Rumors are swirling that the filmmaker is in talks with the Thor: Love and Thunder star to cast him in his next big-budget film, which is slated for release in 2023. Rajamouli had recently signed with Creative Artists Agency, a company American. New York-based talent agency that manages high profile celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Brad Pitt, Will Smith and others.
The filmmaker previously said the film would be an African jungle adventure along the lines of an Indiana Jones movie. While the creators have yet to release an official confirmation on Hemsworth’s casting, reports suggest the actor will be making an extensive appearance if he agrees to join us. Rajamouli’s RRR also had Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson as the main antagonist.
Rajamouli’s deal with the agency could be a sign of things to come. Western audiences have been raving about RRR ever since it stumbled across Netflix earlier this year. The filmmaker is currently in the United States to promote the film, to increase his chances of entering the race for the Oscars next year.
Even though RRR was not chosen as India’s official entry at the 95th Academy Awards, the film’s US distributor said it would campaign to submit the film in the best picture as well as technical categories.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is currently filming for Trivikram’s “mass” artist Srinivas, which has Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The film is set to hit theaters in 2023. His previous release Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which starred Keerthy Suresh, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
