Chris Eubank Jr burst out laughing when Billy Joe Saunders was arrested by Canelo on Saturday night, a result which earned him £ 10,000.
The Brighton man shares a bitter rivalry with his compatriot Briton, who beat him in 2014, and really enjoyed seeing him lose for the first time.
The fight started off positively for Canelo, who was the couple’s most active from the start.
He mistook Saunders for feints before hammering home by recounting body shots.
However, the Briton then picked up the momentum and appeared to start winning rounds himself.
His production increased and he was more and more successful until the eighth and last lap.
In that session, Saunders fell back after being caught with a big right counter-uppercut, which caused serious eye damage, and he just survived the round before his corner ended the fight.
Eubank Jr asked a friend to film his reaction to the shutdown as he laughed loudly.
He called his rival a “wetbag” and celebrated with his pals.
Ahead of the fight, Eubank Jr revealed to talkSPORT that he bet £ 10,000 on a Canelo save – a result that saw him double his money.
All in all, it was a successful night for the 31-year-old, who tweeted: “Canelo if you want a Briton to give you a real fight… I’m ready and waiting.”
