SHANGHAI, Nov 25 (Reuters) – China reported a new record high for daily COVID-19 infections on Friday as cities across the country enforce measures and curbs to control outbreaks.

Thursday’s new local COVID-19 infections set a daily record for a second straight day, beating a figure set in mid-April, when Shanghai’s commercial center was crippled by a citywide lockdown. of its 25 million inhabitants which lasted two months.

Excluding imported infections, China reported 32,695 new local cases on Thursday, including 3,041 symptomatic and 29,654 asymptomatic, compared to 31,444 the day before.
