Chelsea have been dealt a blow with Armando Broja set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Albania international Broja suffered a knee injury in the recent 1-0 friendly loss to Aston Villa in Dubai.

He left the pitch on a stretcher with the 21-year-old pictured screaming in agony on the ground.

Speaking immediately after the game on his move, boss Graham Potter said: “It doesn’t look positive at the moment.

“But it is too early to tell. Fingers crossed, but it’s embarrassing.

However, in a blow to both club and player, the Evening Standard said Broja should ‘be out’ until next season.

It has been said that he will need surgery to repair his ACL injury and will start a rehabilitation program soon.

“It was already one of the possibilities discussed in recent months, which is now materializing after Armando Broja’s ACL injury.

“Discussions will take place to find the best opportunity on the market, Chelsea will be on it.”

Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko has also appears as a possible targetalthough he is unlikely to leave Germany midway through the season.

And it remains to be seen whether Chelsea rekindle their interest in Cristiano Ronaldo, with the 37-year-old now a free agent after parting ways with Manchester United.
