Leicester and Mauricio Pochettino could be a match made in heaven, suggests former Premier League midfielder Darren Ambrose.
Current Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers is under intense pressure after a six-game losing streak in the top flight.
Leicester are the only Premier League side without a win so far this season and sit bottom of the table with one point from seven games.
The Foxes only signed one outfield player during the summer transfer window, while losing key men such as Wesley Fofana and Kasper Schmeichel.
However, Rodgers still has the bulk of the starting XI who finished eighth last season at his disposal and fans are starting to wonder about his future after the club’s terrible start to the campaign.
Former Tottenham manager Pochettino has been mentioned as a possible replacement – and Ambrose believes the move would suit both parties.
The Argentine has been out of work since being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain in July.
He was considered an option for Chelsea and Manchester United during their recent managerial searches, but was ultimately overlooked for both jobs.
“I don’t think Leicester are too small for Pochettino,” former Crystal Palace and Newcastle midfielder Ambrose told talkSPORT.
“He went from Southampton, to Spurs, to PSG – would Leicester look like a step back? Potentially.
“But he’s not doing anything at the moment. Chelsea needed a manager a few weeks ago, they went with Graham Potter.
“Man United needed a manager, they went for Erik ten Hag.
“Why not go for someone like that if you’re in Leicester?” Money can be a problem. This is the question mark.
“That’s perhaps the biggest reason why they haven’t gotten rid of Rodgers yet. I’m led to believe it would cost £10m to get rid of him.
“If they’re in financial difficulty, they can’t afford to do that yet.”
