Chef Jordan Andino is featured in an episode of Selena Gomez’s “Selena + Chef” on HBO Max.

FILIPINO American chef Jordan Andino shows viewers how to cook two beloved Filipino dishes in the latest episode of “Selena + Chef,” actress and singer Selena Gomez’s cooking show on HBO Max.

“Selena + Chef” is a show where Gomez tries to cook different recipes alongside various guest chefs.

In the episode, Andino practically taught Gomez how to cook one of the most beloved Filipino dishes, “adobo” (braised chicken in vinegar, soy sauce and garlic) and a popular snack “turon” (fried banana rolls). .

In an Instagram post, Andino expressed his enthusiasm for the latest episode of “Selena + Chef,” which aired Thursday, January 28.

“So thrilled to announce that my episode of Selena + Chef featuring the one and only @SelenaGomez is out today! We spent a lot of time chatting, meeting each other’s friends and family digitally, helping those in need and of course making classic Filipino dishes, ”he wrote.

“I guess you all have to watch and see what the real judge of my food says when my Lola comes in and reviews the final dishes of me and Selena,” he added.

Chef Fil-Am was born in Toronto, Canada. He began his foray into the culinary world at the age of 9 learning under the guidance of his father and then further honed his education and work experience at renowned restaurants such as The French Laundry, Spago and Jean Georges.

According to his website, Andino’s cuisine is a combination of his grandmother and father’s inspiration – a mix of classic Filipino cuisine and French technique.

Andino owns a Filipino taqueria called Flip Sigi in New York’s West Village.

“I want people to understand that Filipino food isn’t scary and probably is, probably on. [the] the three best cuisines in the world. But nobody knows that, so I’m just here to give people a taste… What I’m envisioning is to refine Filipino cuisine to the point of Michelin star cuisine, ”Andino told the Asian Journal in an interview in 2016.
