Vinyl vehicle wraps are a popular way to change the appearance of a car. They offer a range of visual possibilities while preserving the original color, but they do not fully replace the look and feel of actual paint. Logic’s solution bridges these divides, providing easily removable paint that does not damage the original color.
A new video from Mr JWW’s YouTube channel shows his 991.2 generation Porsche 911 GT3 receiving a stunning coat of San Marino Blue paint, and it wasn’t the car’s first removable color coat. The end result looks like your standard respray.
Logic’s non-wrap removable paint contains the company’s flexible, self-healing, scratch-resistant ceramic lacquer. It’s a clear coat that protects the car’s new color and original paint, and it works by warping and moving to mitigate chips or other damage to the paint. This also makes it easily removable.
Customers can request a range of bespoke colors and treatments and treat them like regular paint. Pinstripes, coach lines, body stripes and matte or satin finishes are all available. The paint can be polished and ceramic coated. It is also compatible with your standard car care products.
Logic, based in the UK, can create a bespoke shade or access decades of color codes from “nearly every car brand in the world”. The company can also source paints used by Ferrari, Porsche, Ford and others from its suppliers. Once the homeowner has had enough of the color, Logic can peel it off without damaging the original finish underneath.
In addition to the custom pigment job, Mr. JWW’s 991.2 generation 911 GT3 is equipped with a custom Porsche JCR exhaust, new wheels, new caliper paint (which matches the orange cabin), a carbon fiber GT3 RS hood and ducktail wing. Inside, the Porsche features custom seat brakes, Logic Blue-tinted carbon fiber trim, and new upholstery.
The coupe is powered by the brand’s 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 493 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. The automaker offers the coupe with a six-speed manual transmission, which slows its sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds. The automatic does it in 3.2 seconds.
Despite all the possibilities available today for personalizing cars, buyers continue to overwhelmingly purchase white, black, silver and gray vehicles. In the United States, these sounds made up more than 75% of all cars on the road last year. The other quarter of colors are blue, red, brown, green, orange, purple, gold, beige and yellow. Blue and red represent just over 19% of these shades.
