Channel 7’s AFL chief reporter Tom Browne is back at work after a crippling infection recently hospitalized him for six days.
The esteemed journalist, 40, was admitted to Cabrini Hospital in Victoria in November after his condition left him bedridden and unable to work.
Fortunately, his medical team treated him effectively and helped the football correspondent to return to the field.

After successful surgery, the sports journalist received a certificate of good health and was allowed to return to work.
Many Tom fans have taken to Twitter to express their relief that he is on the mend with one worried follower telling him to “be fine”.
Tom, who is expecting his second child with his wife Tara, often talks about health and urging people to take care of themselves.
Fortunately, his medical team treated him effectively and helped the football correspondent to return to the field.
At 32, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but a combination of medical treatment and healthy living is helping him control it.
“I think a lot of people with diabetes have a similar attitude to me and they just want to get on with life, but the reality is that it’s a serious disease,” he told the Herald Sun.
“I think people should be inspired by people like (footballers) Paddy McCartin and Sam Reid; you shouldn’t let it hold you back.

Tom, who is the son of Collingwood President Jeff Browne, and his wife Tara are the proud parents of one-year-old son Henry.
The lovebirds live in a mansion in Melbourne.
He worked as a lawyer from 2006 to 2009 before starting a career in sports journalism.
