New misfortune for Channel 10 star Lisa Wilkinson as she finds herself at the center of a social media scam
Lisa Wilkinson has warned her social media followers not to fall for a social media scam that uses a duplicate version of her Instagram account to lure victims.
Online scammers have opened a profile using Wilkinson’s name and photos which appear nearly identical to the Channel 10 host’s verified account.
The 63-year-old posted a screenshot of the fake account on Monday and wrote: “Fraudulent account warning”.

She added, “Please don’t follow and especially don’t click on any links.”
The fake Instagram uses a photo of Wilkinson that looks similar to the one she uses on her real account and goes by the handle “lisa.wilkonsam.”
He also uses the same profile description that Wilkinson uses on his verified account.

It comes after Wilkinson kicked off the new year with a bang on his naysayers following his sudden exit from The Project in November.
The former Today presenter has spoken of leaving behind “the weight of other people’s opinions” as she heads into 2023.
Her exit came after a difficult year in which she was taken off the air following her disastrous Logies speech which led to the postponement of a rape trial.
Wilkinson, who hasn’t appeared on screens since leaving The Project, is still earning a “seven-figure salary” from Channel 10 thanks to the “watertight” deal she signed in 2021, reports The Australian.
