It was not a good day for Charlton, who lost at home to Middlesbrough, Paddy McNair scoring the only goal in the game. Meanwhile, Wigan and Luton played a goalless draw.
Elsewhere, Brentford hit five against Sheffield on Wednesday while Preston suffered a huge collapse in the second half as he was beaten by QPR at Deepdale.
