BEIJING, September 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — A forum promoting cultural exchanges between China and Argentina was held in beijing Wednesday with senior officials from both countries pledging to advance the concept of a community with a shared future for humanity.
The China-Argentina High-Level Forum on Cultural Exchange comes as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Argentinian counterpart Alberto Fernandez sent letters of congratulations to the forum.
For half a century, China-Argentina The relationship has endured the tests posed by the changing international environment, illustrating the unity and mutual development between developing countries and emerging economies, Xi said in his letter.
Noting that the comprehensive and rapid development of bilateral relations reflects the vitality of China-Latin America relations, Xi expressed hope that forum participants will pool wisdom and build consensus to help write a new chapter of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and contribute to building a community with a shared future for China and Latin America and humanity in the new era.
Fernandez said the highly accomplished media cooperation between the two countries has enhanced mutual understanding between the two peoples, and he looks forward to deepening bilateral cooperation to further strengthen China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership.
More than 100 representatives from China and Argentina attended the forum, jointly organized by China Media Group and argentina National public media. It was part of a series of events in 2022 marking the friendship between the two countries.
The numerous agreements concluded between the two countries, such as a cooperation agreement between argentina Province of Buenos Aires and that of China Sichuan Provincewill further enhance bilateral trade and financial cooperation, said Argentine Foreign Minister Cafe Santiago said on the forum.

Fruitful cooperation, exchanges
China and Argentina established diplomatic relations in March 1972. According to the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement, the two countries have made significant progress in pursuing a cooperative agenda.
In 2004, the two countries signed a series of agreements, significantly strengthening economic cooperation. Bilateral trade has grown rapidly over the past two decades, with China becoming argentina biggest trading partner April 2020.

Fernandez then attended the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics in beijingwhere Chinese and Argentinian officials also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), making the Latin American country an official BRI partner.
Besides the MoU, the two countries also signed cooperation documents in more than 10 areas, including green development, digital economy, aerospace, BeiDou satellite navigation system, technological innovation and farming.
