CELTIC ace Liela Abada has dismissed speculation linking him with a potential Premier League move.
The Israeli has stood out for Ange Postecoglou’s side since arriving in Scotland last year, registering 15 goals and 11 assists in his debut season as the Hoops clinched the Premiership title.
This form won the 20-year-old PFA Scotland player the Young Player of the Year award and also helped make him a regular in their senior national team.
This season he has featured regularly as a substitute for Celtic but that hasn’t dulled his impact with six goals to start the campaign.
Returning home to represent Israel in their Nations League win over Albania, Abada was asked about the possibility of him making a big move south of the border.
Premier League clubs will no doubt be watching the progress of the talented player who turns 21 next week.
But the Celtic striker insisted leaving Celtic was not on his mind at the moment.
He told Israeli outlet Mako: “Right now my focus is on the national team, not the Premier League.
“We will do our best (for the national team).
“There is still a lot of work and the most important thing is to be humble, there are players and coaches who have gone through a lot in their careers.
“I’m just trying to play a role in winning.”
Staying with Celtic also gave Abada the chance to show off his skills in the Champions League group stage, which he is relishing so far.
The Hoops’ home opener against Real Madrid was followed by a draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in neutral Poland – with a double-header against RB Leipzig to follow in the coming month.
And the winger admits it was a dream come true to play in Europe’s premier club football competition – and go up against some of the best defenders in the world.
He added: “There was a crazy atmosphere (at Parkhead against Madrid) and I played against great players.
“I believe in myself a lot. It’s the first time I’ve played in the Champions League and I’m learning the high tempo. I believe I’m capable of it.”
