Celine Dion paid tribute to her late husband René Angelil this Friday, on the sixth anniversary of his death.
She began with the lyrics to her 2019 song Courage: “I’d be lying if I said I’m fine, I think of you at least a hundred times, ’cause in the echo of my voice I hear your words as if you was there…’
The 53-year-old pop star concluded the post by simply writing, “I miss you,” repeating the sentiment in her native French.

Céline shares three sons with her late husband, who died in 2016 at the age of 73 from a heart attack – René-Charles, 20, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 11.
She met René in Canada when she was a 12-year-old budding singer and he was already 38. He became her manager.
His devotion to nurturing his career would have led him to mortgage his house in order to be able to finance his 1981 debut album, The Voice of the Good God.
René and Céline officially started dating in 1987 – when she was just 19 and he was 45 – and in 1991 they got engaged.

It was not until 1993, however, that she made their romance public, slipping the announcement into the liner notes of her album The Color Of My Love.
In December 1994, they were married at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, which became the site of the baptism and funeral of their eldest son René-Charles.
René died aged 73 of a heart attack while suffering from terminal throat cancer in January 2016. Two days later, Céline lost her brother Daniel to throat cancer.
In August, Céline released a French-language tribute album titled Encore un soir, featuring a single of the same name which was a hit in French-speaking markets.

Courage, his latest album, opened at the top of the Billboard 200 in late 2019 – then dropped to No. 111 in just one week.
In doing so, it made history, as no album has ever fallen from No. 1 below the top 100 in just its second week, Forbes reported.
A Page Six insider revealed, “She is upset. All hell broke loose. The only reason she sold 100,000 was because of everything the labels do, but she only sold about 3,000 in the second week.
By “the whole bundle,” the source was referring to a practice whereby fans buy concert tickets and get a free copy of the artist’s latest album.

Meanwhile, over the past two decades, Celine has become known as the “Queen of Las Vegas” due to her extremely successful residencies there.
After retiring from her famed residency at Caesars Palace in 2019, she was flown back to Sin City to perform at the new Resorts World on the Strip.

But it emerged in October that Celine had to drop out of the first two rounds of shows in November, January and February for health reasons, according to Variety.
The official postponement announcement said Celine was dealing with “severe and persistent muscle spasms.”
Her medical issues had progressed to the point that even going to rehearsal had obviously become unfeasible.
