‘For many years I was Bond material’: Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, tells how she was born to play female 007
Catherine Zeta-Jones recently opened up about a role she believed she was born to play, saying that she “had the chops to be a Bond woman”.
The Oscar-winning Chicago star told The Telegraph that if only the timing had been right, she could have played the role.
She explained: “For many years I was Bond material. In fact, I dreamed of being a spy as a child – if I didn’t succeed as an actress.

“Then later on I had big aspirations, and that was before there was even a female Doctor Who.”
And even though the role was “the one that got away”, Catherine has since turned professional.
She recently starred in the popular Netflix Addams Family TV series, Wednesday – in which she plays Morticia Addams.
The popular eight-episode series was filmed in Romania during the pandemic and it should be a treat for any parent or child looking for a fantastic family TV series.

And Catherine isn’t planning on stopping there, as she’s also set to star in Disney+ TV’s long-awaited spin-off of Nicholas Cage’s hit movies – National Treasure: Edge Of History.
The revelation of the bond comes after Catherine recently reflected on the “highs and lows” of her marriage to husband Michael Douglas, 78, whom she married in 2000, during the interview with The Telegraph.
The actress briefly split from the Hollywood star in 2013 after her battle with tongue cancer and her diagnosis of bipolar disorder. They reconciled in 2014.
During the interview, she said, “It’s impossible for there not to be ups and downs if you live with the same person and wake up with them every day.”
“I’ve been waking up with Mike for almost 25 years. I love being married but it’s a crazy thing when you really think about it. ‘Will you marry me?’
“But then you think of the Chanel handbag you spent a fortune on, and I actually don’t really like it anymore – I’m going to put it back on sale.”
