Carol Burnett is set to celebrate her 90th birthday with a two-hour NBC special featuring appearances from Katy Perry and her longtime friend Julie Andrews
Comedy legend Carol Burnett will celebrate her 90th birthday with some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
NBC has announced the next two-hour special honoring Carol on her birthday, Carol Burnett: 90 Years Of Laughter + Love.
Burnett will be honored with performances from Bernadette Peters and Katy Perry while Amy Poehler, Cher, Ellen DeGeneres and her good friend Julie Andrews are among the celebrities making appearances.

“I’m so excited that NBC decided to throw me a birthday party and invited all my closest friends,” Burnett said, according to Deadline. “I can’t wait to look back on so many wonderful moments throughout my career, I feel so lucky to share this night with everyone.”
Billy Porter, Jane Lynch, Kristin Chenoweth are among the big names performing while Aileen Quinn, Bill Hader, Bob Mackie, Kristin Wiig, Laura Dern, Lily Tomlin, Marisa Tomei, Sofia Vergara, Steve Carell, Susan Lucci, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Vicki Lawrence are set to make appearances.
“This special is going to be the best party ever,” said executive producer Mark Bracco. “It will be an evening of music, comedy and dozens of top stars paying tribute to the one and only, Carol Burnett. We can’t wait for everyone at home to celebrate with us.
The program will be filmed at the Avalon Hollywood club in Los Angeles and will include musical tributes celebrating some of his iconic performances, according to Deadline.

Lasting friendship: It will also feature a tribute celebrating his longtime friendship with Julie Andrews using the song Old Friends

The special will pay homage to I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together, the theme song to The Carol Burnett Show. It will also feature Old Friends, a tribute celebrating his enduring friendship with Julie Andrews.
Carol Burnett: 90 Years Of Laughter + Love will air on NBC on her birthday, April 26, and will be available to stream the following day on Peacock.
Burnett has worked sparingly over the past few years, starring in the 2020 Netflix film All Together Now with Auli’i Cravalho and Justina Machado.
She also voiced Windbreeze in the 2020 animated short Trolls Holiday in Harmony and returned as Theresa Stemple in a 2019 revival episode of Mad About You.

Over the summer, it was announced that she had signed on for a guest role on the final season of Better Call Saul.
Singer, actress and comedian, Burnett is best known for her groundbreaking variety show The Carol Burnett Show which aired on CBS from 1967 to 1978 and won 25 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Widely considered a national treasure, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2005.
